The Centre Scoop Vol. 2

The end of the CUC Far West’s very first Semester has fast approached. It has been a very busy and exciting start to what we anticipate is a strong and long future supporting higher education opportunities within the Far West region.

Some highlights from our first semester have included our official opening, held on Friday 4th May, with formal proceedings conducted by NSW Deputy Premier John Barilaro, in the presence of delegates and community members; We also attended AGfair Broken Hill, just one of 300 exhibitors participating, we had a great opportunity to meet with local community, discussing future education opportunities and the CUC model.

After months of hard work on design and content, we were excited to launch our website. It’s a one-stop destination for CUC Far West information and news, where visitors can get a better understanding of what is on offer and commence the registration process.

Throughout the semester CUC Far West has taken every opportunity to engage with community, industry, business and government agencies; with the aim to ensure we remain a sustainable and active participant in the region; facilitating and promoting the advancement of tertiary education and career pathways.

And lastly, a record number of student registrations were achieved, totalling 74 students for this Semester, 37% of students are studying Health related degree’s, with an additional 18% studying Psychology/Social Work and 17% studying Education.
